Our Nasdaq profile from last week, Complete Genomics, Inc. (Nasdaq:GNOM), is still moving as this week begins, following news that the company has shipped approximately 3,000 genomes to customers in 2011 and is beginning the new year with orders for approximately 5,800 more. The forecasted orders have a value of about $28 million. The company actually received orders for 8,000 genomes in 2011, valued at about $39 million, but did not have sufficient processing power to complete them. To improve on that, the company has recently expanded its lab facilities.

GNOM has developed DNA sequencing equipment for human genome analysis that permits the company to carry out large-scale DNA sequencing for clients, which enables them to avoid having to buy their own expensive facilities. Clients include universities, medical companies and other research institutions.

We first alerted GNOM on January 3rd at $2.90. This morning it reached a high of $4.18 and as we write at $4.00.
